Day 1

  1. Course Introduction: Presentation of training objectives and structure. 
  2. Introduction to Oracle Linux: Basic information about the Oracle Linux operating system. 
  3. Installing Oracle Linux 8: Installation process of Oracle Linux 8 operating system. 
  4. Configuring Remote Access with OpenSSH: Setting up remote access using OpenSSH.

Day 2:

  1. Configuring and Managing GRUB Bootloader: Setting and managing the GRUB Bootloader. 
  2. Introduction to systemd: Overview of the systemd initialization system. 
  3. Managing Time: Setting system time and time zones in Oracle Linux.

Day 3

  1. Kernel and Device Configuration: Customizing system kernel settings and devices. 
  2. Package Management: Installing, updating, and removing packages and software in Oracle Linux. 
  3. Introduction to Oracle Ksplice: Overview of the Oracle Ksplice tool for kernel updates without system restart.

Day 4

  1. User and Group Administration: Creating, managing, and deleting user accounts and groups in Oracle Linux. 
  2. Partitions, File Systems, and Swap: Configuring and managing partitions, file systems, and swap. 
  3. Network Configuration: Setting up and administering network connections in Oracle Linux.

Day 5

  1.  Network Security: Basics of securing networks in Oracle Linux.
  2.  Oracle on Oracle: Best practices for using Oracle Linux in corporate environments.
  3. System Monitoring and Management: Monitoring and managing Oracle Linux.
  4. System Logging and Troubleshooting: Configuring system logging and troubleshooting in Oracle Linux.

Requirements

To participate in the "Oracle Linux 8: System Administration" training, participants should meet the following requirements:

Basic knowledge of operating systems: Participants should have an understanding of basic concepts related to operating systems, including knowledge of file, process, and user permission management.

Experience with Linux: Experience with any Linux distribution is recommended, as it will facilitate understanding of Oracle Linux 8 specifics and the effective use of system tools.

Familiarity with the command line: Participants should be comfortable using the command line, as many tasks during the course will require operations through the terminal.

Interest in system administration: Ideal candidates are those aspiring to be system administrators or current administrators who want to expand their skills in new technologies and tools offered by Oracle Linux.
