DAY 1: "How Does the User's Mind Work?"

MODULE 1: The User Is Not You – Fundamentals of Cognitive Psychology
- what perception is and how it distorts reality
- model: what the user sees vs. what they interpret
- the curse of knowledge (illusion of obviousness)
- difference between system logic and human logic
Exercise: "This system is simple... for whom?"
10:45–12:15
MODULE 2: Attention and Cognitive Load
- how attention works (selectivity, limitations)
- cognitive load – when a system "overwhelms" the user
- chaos effect vs. guiding the user
- multitasking as a myth
Exercise: analyzing a system screen for cognitive load
12:45–14:15
MODULE 3: User Memory and Decision-Making
- working memory vs. long-term memory
- principle: "Don't make the user remember"
- heuristics and mental shortcuts
- how users make decisions within the system
Case Study: Where does the user "get lost" in the process?
